Northeast Philadelphia homes with Kyle Keenan

Kyle works the Northeast from Castor Gardens out to Parkwood, with Mayfair in between. He has listed remodeled twins, fixer-uppers and a recent sale here, and he can talk through what a block looks like before you drive it.

What the homes are like

The Northeast is mostly brick. Mayfair and the older blocks around Castor Gardens are rowhomes and twins, many with a small front yard and a rear driveway or shared alley. Corner twins like the one on Fanshawe Street get a side yard that interior rowhomes do not.

Farther out, toward Parkwood, lots get larger and detached houses and garages show up more often. Houses that have not been touched in decades sit next to full remodels on the same street, so price gaps between neighboring blocks can be wide.

Getting around

Roosevelt Boulevard (US-1) is the main east-west route, and Frankford Avenue and Cottman Avenue carry local traffic. I-95 runs along the river on the east side.

SEPTA bus routes feed the Market-Frankford Line at Frankford Transportation Center, and the Trenton Line stops at Holmesburg Junction, Tacony and Torresdale. The area sits inside the School District of Philadelphia, and Pennypack Park gives it a long creek-side trail.
